This document discusses the basic properties of protons, neutrons, electrons, and isotopes. Protons have a positive charge and determine atomic number. Neutrons have no charge and equal mass to protons. Electrons have a negative charge and negligible mass. Isotopes are atoms of the same element with different numbers of neutrons, resulting in the same atomic number but different mass numbers.
